ROSEMONT, Ill. (Aug. 4, 2008) – The eighth annual Midwest Security & Police Conference/Expo, which drew more than 2,200 professionals last year, will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 12-13, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road, Rosemont, Ill.
The conference and expo is the Midwest’s most dynamic industry trade event showcasing cutting-edge educational presentations and networking opportunities. Professionals in attendance will include chiefs of police and specialists in law enforcement, public safety, safety-security management, sales and marketing, senior management and consulting engineering.
Conference sessions will focus on relevant public safety topics, including transitioning to the private security sector after a career in public service, to advance techniques for determining a place safe before public officials and other high-profile individuals arrive at a location, and news in medical marijuana legislation and drug legalization efforts.
A two-day marketplace features more than 175 companies showing state-of-the-art security, law enforcement and life safety products, systems and services for use by professionals in municipal and private safety careers. Sponsor presentations – including cutting fuel costs with “green” patrol vehicles, on-site security dog training demonstrations and new techniques in laptop protection – are offered free to attendees.
The event is presented by the Illinois Association Chiefs of Police, Illinois Security Chiefs Association and the Fraternal Order of Police, Illinois State Lodge, in partnership with ROC Exhibitions. For information, visit www.mspce.com.
